Meeting of cuzzies!!
Two weeks ago, i managed to meet my cousins from Singapore. It has certainly been awhile since i met my cousins and aunties from the country, and so the journey down south to Johore was filled with trepidation at the thought of missing them loads, as well as the fear of things getting ugly (between me and you, my dear reader, my family has had some tumultuous relations every now and then, but only with certain individuals) so imagine my palpable sigh of relief when i discovered that the people who would cause a potentially fucksome maelstrom were nowhere to be seen on that day! So we were all smiles, and the forecast for the 2 days we would spend would be absolutely no frowns! Here are names and descriptions of the cousins and aunties i met:
Umar (or Ramu, as he loves to call himself), age 17- Gaywad and one of the few male cousins i have. His elder brother is in National Service, and so he came alone. Even so, is a pent up ball of energy who never fails to brighten up our day with his explicit and pervertic jokes. Was bullied when he was younger by myself and his brother, and was called booger boy, as he was a walking pile of mucous and phlegm. How things have changed. Is now a super awesome superfreak! LOL.. Highlight of stay: When we both gang-raped my bro, making him emotionally traumatised. HAHAHHAHAHAAHAHHA!
Nazrin (or Nini), age 30+- My aunt and godmother's eldest daughter. Grew up a party freak, and brought me clubbing when she came up to KL. Awesome gal, tho i didnt know that during my first few decades of life. Funny how she managed to hide her awesomeness and made sure i perceived her as a prune. But now i guess since i am old enough, she had no choice but to let her true colours out (not that i couldn't sniff it from the off la). Has poor luck with love, as with almost all the female division of the family, poor her. Highlight of stay: When we smoked together, with Ramu, all chillin' like villains. Still cant believe she does it, without her mother's knowledge. NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!
Fadlon (Ti Lon to us nephews, or Farah, as she calls herself, which sadly no one ever calls her.), age early 50s- Is the most successful sibling in my mom's family. Worked her ass off from her youth, and forsook her personal life for the collective good of the family. Such a saint. Always took us out and spent loads for our enjoyment. Is one half of the Mother Theresa of felinedom (she walks around with a bottle of cat food to feed any poor or hungry cat we encounter!!). She is extremely wealthy and now drives a spanking new C-Class! Highlight of stay: When she gave us money, also from other aunties!! WOOHOOOOO!
Wardah (Ti Dah to us nephews, and she doesnt have a glamorous name), age late 40s- Is the youngest of the Bahajaj clan, and is by far the best looking as she looks even younger than her age, much to her disagreement. Is the other half of the Mother Theresa of felinedom, and is always on the lookout for cats. Has always been there for us, and are among the few people in the family who is very objective and not biased in her views on anything. Always took us out as little children. Highlight of stay: When she drove her SUZUKI SWIFT! STEADY AH BEB! HAHAHA
Zuraidah (or Junai, as we all call her)- Was me and my bro's babysitter of sorts. We stayed at her house sometimes and she always took us out too. (Honestly i dunno why but i remember those who took me out alot better :P) is now a policewoman working as a coast guard! Has always loved felines too, albeit not as devout as the Mother Theresas. LOL. She has a 3 legged cat at her house tho. Highlight of stay: When we all went camwhoring using her phone! I looked thinner than before! WOOOHOOO!
Sadly we only had 2 days and 1 night to meet everyone, and most of the time was spent in the hotel catching up with each other and just having a blast. But it was still time well spent for me, and i loved every minute of it! Im glad i met u guys.. Miss u LOADS.. Slamat ar (Singaporean Malay's farewell)

ISA 'gatherings'
Now before proceeding with my bashing of sorts, let us go through a refresher course (albeit a brief one, and one that thankfully DOES NOT INVOLVE CONSTITUTIONAL LAW) on what the ISA is. ISA was created in the 1950s originally to combat the communist insurgents. These bastards came in with the purpose of spreading communism (which, for the uninitiated, involved a 'classless' society where commoners don't own shit and the authority gets everything). With the promulgation of such laws, the government was empowered to arrest these nutjobs without them being able to hire the best of lawyers to help them wriggle out of situations through loopholes and technicalities of the law. In simple words, the government was given the power to arrest or detain without 'fair' trial.
The law was made in the 1950s, but its use still lingers on till this very day. We have to understand that no matter how multi-racial our country is, we are still trying to strike a balance between equality for all, and also remembering our roots, i.e. paying homage to who the original inhabitants are. Some fools feel that we need to ignore this, but it is important to note that these early inhabitants were the ones who had to bear with sudden appearances of 'aliens' on their soil, so perhaps a bit of cognizance and gratitude of their tolerance would be much appreciated. The ISA is therefore essential in ensuring that while the authorities are trying their best to strike this balance (with varying degrees of success), there would be a law that would shut ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) inflicted primates up from saying or doing things that would cause the country to end up being a pile of scorched earth and skellys.
But alas! There are still fools who think that it's cool to incite such stuff (perhaps under the misguided theory that it might be the only way to get laid) and other sensitive issues for the fun of it or supposedly for reasons they managed to cook up only after reading books on crusaders of the past. And the only thing stopping them is the dreaded ISA, which will not only mean that they will be imprisoned; it also means that the closest thing to getting laid is through hand-jobs or sleeping with inmates. So with this in mind, they decided to gather the populae who had same mental deficiencies as them, to supposedly hold a 'friendly' gathering AT A FUCKING MOSQUE. Their agenda: to eliminate the ISA.
A few things to take note of: 1) 'friendly' gatherings involving fucktards usually end up in violence, 2) trying to upset the peace of the public, who usually dont give a damn as we have many other things to do, would usually end up in tragedy and 3) intending to abolish an act that keeps us together before we are ready is a telltale sign of a retarded mind.
With that, a total of 50 plus people were arrested or detained. One thing that surprises me tho, is that over 4k people turned up. FOUR THOUSAND! I didn't know there were that many mentally retarded people roaming around the streets! Well the thing that saddens me is that these people who incite others usually tend to tap into the psyche of the masses. They target the disillusioned and the ones who feel like life has kicked them in their ass (or their 'nads); and during these troubled economic climate, there exists many. Most appallingly, these people also tend to gather at the one place that most people, even the Consti, hold sacred. The house of Allah; the mosque. I mean of all the dirty tricks one can ever do in life, mixing religion with todays political values has got to be among the worst things ever. I mean applying Islam in politics, to aid in reformation, and to practice those values is one thing i can salute, but to manipulate Islam for political or self gain? These people have gone a step too far.
One can almost notice a worrying trend. A current striker's checklist would go something like this: 1) think of something controversial and anti-government, 2) bring it up to the masses usually through the internet as its free and cheap, 3) hold it during a proper time, usually during weekends, and 4) hold it in a mosque, for added oooommph. The effects of such an act would not only paint a black mark on Malaysians, but also Islam as a whole. I mean what picture would this paint to the other religions, especially to people who are eager to enter into Islam? Surely they would think that Islam is a religion that involves hostility and striking, and are therefore disinclined to take a step further. It's these things that i fear would be our undoing.
Which is why I actually feel like at times like these, ISA is an act which is extremely crucial; not only to shut fucking retards up for the stability of our nation and the pride of our religion, but it also helps to ensure that people do not continue to inadvertently defile a whole bunch of people due to the misdeeds of a single idiot. As the saying goes, a few bad eggs spoil the batch. So to prevent the spoiling of the batch, ISA would throw away the bad eggs from the batch and kinda put them in a place where they rot and decay, away from the good eggs. That way the society would be a much better place. Now the issue is, what do we do with the remaining 3.9k people who actually got away?:P
Before I end my rambling, I have to say that I am not a true fan of ISA, and in no way do i want it to exist ad infinitum. But to intend to abolish it now is akin to cutting the umbilical cord of a baby while it is still not fully developed. The baby will die. The same thing applies to our country. We are only entering 52 years of independence; still a baby as compared to some other countries. It will take a while more before we reach an inoffensive compromise on certain issues, and even then there will still be troublemakers. That is the way of the world. In my humble opinion, the only time ISA should be abolished is when the public itself grows up. One way that signifies this maturity is that the public will not be faltered by naysayers and troublemakers. Only when WE prove OUR own maturity will it be safe for the ISA to be abolished. And at the rate things are going, and looking at how things have transpired over the past few days, it ironically proves that we are still anything but matured. Look at ourselves before we even think about the readiness of the society to a complete freedom that would most probably engulf and destroy us.
As i said before, speech is a powerful tool. But at our current state of infancy and naivety, i do feel that we are not ready. And with infants, a tight slap or a cane is needed to ensure discipline. Funny that the cane's brand is one that involves 3 letters; the ISA.

The New Semester
1 Dr. Azlinor- Land Law- Petite lady, very motherly in behaviour, and has alot to talk about. She has a doctrine (albeit not enforced yet) that involves us all sitting in a fixed position so she can memorize us to ensure that we do not skip her lectures. Sadly, she has managed to memorise my name and remember me by the second class, so skipping her class is definitely out of the question. And it is of such gigantic irony that her class is the first class, starting at 8 in the morning. Oh what joy...
2 Dr. Mushera- Company Law- Rather tall lady with seemingly indian descent, she has a hawk like stare; much akin to a glare (god i should be a poet). Is the most intimidating looking and behaving lecturer, and merely affirms the words of caution from the seniors past. Has the special ability to shrink an elder male's scrotum with her savagely razor-sharp words. Case proven in class one day which shall not be disclosed for fear of a lawsuit for defamation.
3 Prof. Abd Ghafur- Public International Law- Quite tall and thin chinese looking wizened man, who speaks in an Indian accent which therefore brings to light his a Burmese descent (Public International Lor). Has a special ability to make most students fall asleep in his class, and teaches by the book. Literally! But he is a nice person, and strangely his sights kept veering towards me, making it very hard to fall asleep (he must be thinking 'by god what an ugly mofo i have as a student!') I hope his marking style will be rather laid back tho..
4 Prof. Syed Khalid- Equity and Trusts- Medium build balding man, from Kashmir (which has got to be among the most suave sounding places EVER! Try saying it with a Sean Connery accent) is a pretty aloof guy, almost unsure of what he is teaching. His special ability is giving very sound and awesome advice and quotes, and forgetting where he got it from! Sadly his lectures have not started yet and i am clueless as to what is to be expected. Here's hoping for the best!
5 Ustaz Mamahat Ariffin- So forgettable and anonymous that i cannot even remember his name (now i do :P)! Small build and of Malay descent, he teaches us usul fiqh. According to seniors he seems to be a nice guy, and will be ok in the long run. He has two special abilities, i.e. 1) inducing extreme sleepiness, even more powerful than Prof. Ghafur (refer to #3), as he can cause extreme sleepiness in people, even though his class is at 11 am 2) power to cause forgetfulness in people, so that people are clueless as to what they are learning or studying about, even after full lectures.
6 Prof Samsah Kamar- Banking Law- Now i have saved the best for last. He is of Malay descent, small yet slightly plump, he teaches pretty well. Has promoted me to become the doorman (one who always has to get the key to open the doors of classes) and has had a heart bypass done to him while he was in the States (or was it Canada?), and so is telling us life is very important. Even told us to be cool if we failed and chill out. Award for most cool lecturer? HELL YEAH! His special ability is to induce repentance in a person, for every class starts with the pondering of a hadith and the singing of a salawat. It is pretty hilarious and ironic, as we are learning the ways of riba and we start with hadith and salawat. Guess it cancels out the corrupted knowledge. Lol.
So far this is my conclusive, yet inexhaustive results of researching about my lecturers through my scientfic means. I shall update thee, my followers, on whether my predictions were spot on, or whether they were all hogwash created by a demented mental idiot who had nothing better to do. Anyways i hope you peeps had a laugh from it. Will be writing on my tutors on my next post. Till then, cheerio! FB has to hibernate..

Confidence - Invaluable moral lessons
Confidence has various manifestations. One can put confidence in someone, or in an object or thing, or one can even put confidence in oneself. Usually, as with experience, putting confidence in someone or in an object would almost always lead to failure, especially when one underperforms or the object, as with everything in this world, does not last. I can assure you, the dear reader of my blog, that most of the time, putting confidence in someone or an object will lead to your very own downfall, in some way or another.
My personal experience of putting confidence in people is rather tragic. As has been so in every facet of my life, i have at one point or another put some form of confidence in a person to carry out his or her responsibilities, or the very least, to keep something a secret. And more often than not almost everyone has, in some way or another, found a multitude of ways to screw things up, be it slightly or majorly; be it intentionally or unintentionally. I am usually ok with unintentional acts of screwing up my confidence in these certain people. I usually hold grudges against others when they intentionally screw up, and think it is all just a game and shrug it off. Imbecilic heathens.
Then what about confidence in oneself? I do admit that having self confidence is an invaluable asset. The self confidence you have and apply can be an infectious and contagious trait that can bolster the morale of people around you, and is an awesome attribute to obtain, especially for leaders. But as with everything good, there is always a flipside.
The problem arises when one's self confidence reaches new heights that are disproportionate to ones abilities. Usually this swelling up of one's confidence can also be akin to what we call being cocky. Often one can hear or ever encountered cocksure people 'having self confidence' to tackle a certain conundrum and usually failing along the way. Why is this so you may ask? Apart from the obvious fact that in some cases one can fail oneself, it is the fact that the confidence one has has swelled up to the point of ballooning and exaggerating ones own abilities so much so that ones abilities become much more hyped up than it actually is. In other words, constant assurance by yourself and your abilities often leaves you complacent enough to not bother about self improvisation. This leads to a stagnation in abilities, and this alone is a crucial error to make in an ever improving world.
On a divine note, it could also be because when one gets so air headed with ones own abilities, one begins to think more of oneself than ones creator. Knowledge has the power to give confidence to anyone who wields it, and with knowledge one can rule the world, if utilized properly. But we must remember that we are still merely humans. And as the angels said in Al-Baqarah:23 'O Lord! We have no knowledge apart from what knowledge has been taught to us by you...'. We have no knowledge as we stand. What could possibly make us think that we are at a level above angels; the entities who are in constant communion with God? Iblis defied God when asked to bow down to Adam, and look what happened to him. He was so cocky of his status and abilities till he inadvertently defied his own creator. I can safely say that cocky humans are treading down that similar path, and i can assume that their downfall is their price to pay, just as how Iblis paid for his impudence and insolence.
If one is astute enough, one might have impliedly noticed one exception to who one can place confidence in - Our God. He is the one who will be with us through our toughest times, and he is the one who will stick with us come what may. Most importantly he is our provider. Of life and knowledge. It is him that has to be given credit when we score well or when we succeed in any way, as nothing can be done or succeeded if He does not intend it to be so.
In my case, it may seem like i have confidence, especially in classes and lectures, but i can safely say that it is all a facade. I do realise the importane of 'showing' your confidence to people that matter; people who will be your assessors, people who will hire you, and even people who are against you, though it has to always be carefully meted out to ensure that it is confidence, and not cockiness. But deep down inside i have never been confident of 'my' abilities. Because truth be told, it is not mine. It is a gift from the divine powers; one that can be taken back at the snap of His fingers, leaving me a dumb husk of a person who was once priding himself for his supposedly hard-earned abilities and attributes.
Many people have become annoyed by my 'humbleness'. The thing is, i am not humble. I am just stating things as they are. Why would i want to pride myself over something that is not mine? It is a gift that i got, and yes, i will use it to its fullest. But i will never pride or claim ownership over it, and i shall forever remain who i am. Just a human being.
I can attribute the so-so grades i got to two main things - God, coz it is seriously beyond my control considering how little effort i put to studying, and my mother and father, coz they are the ones who till this very day tirelessly pray for my success in this world and the next. Just that one does it in this world and the other does it in the grave. But i am eternally thankful for their endeavours, and i shall try my best to not fail them.
Another facet of self-confidence is associated with looks. I reckon that one has to be confident with how one looks like, and must be able to accept themselves for who they are. This is something i have tried hard to do, and i guess i have finally succeeded in accepting myself for who i am; though it doesn't mean i like what i accept. It's akin to a parent. He or she can accept a rebel child as their child, but that doesn't mean they like what they accept. Haha.. But whatever it is i am still grateful that i am not deformed or retarded in anyway at all (just a bit excessive. Haha! But then i tell myself overdelivery is always better than underdelivery..:P) I guess we must be thankful and happy with what we have, and we must always look at those who are less fortunate than ourselves, than look at those who are more fortunate. Though it is not wrong to look at those who are more fortunate than us as stepping stones, or yardsticks to aspire to in the future, again to prevent stagnation in any way at all.
To sum up my traumatically vivid experiences and ramblings, the moral of the story is that confidence, especially self-confidence, is important in such a superficial world, and one should have it to be able to rise up in rank in the world today. One just has to make sure that confidence here does not lead to complacency and cockiness, and forgetting ones roots and status in this, sadly, God-forgetting world we're living in today.
Cheers,

The Unchained Mouth
Now freedom of speech is enumerated in Art. 10 of the federal constitution. It basically provides freedom of one's speech, but as with almost all 'freedoms', it comes with some restrictions, such as the prevention of talking about the special privileges of Malays and also the special position and immunity of our Malay rulers.
The issue on many people's minds is 'should there be an absolute freedom, like those in Western countries like (i damn myself for saying this) the US of A?'
Freedom of speech is an extremely powerful tool. Words alone can either win over supporters or even lose all of them. Even in the pages of history, it was learnt that Hitler himself recorded propaganda and transmitted them through speakers all over Germany all day long. Imagine speakers blaring all day repeating glorified words of a leader or patriotic phrases ordering people to stand up for one's own country. No wonder people at that time were won over. But this is just one of many instances where the power of words won over the masses. Put in the right hands the power of words can be an extremely potent force. If it falls in the wrong hands, it is almost certain that chaos would ensue.
It is with this in mind that the restrictions set out in the Article were drafted - to prevent miscreants from using such freedom to sow the seeds of discontent and chaos. This is also in line with the cheesy and perhaps even corny quote by Peter Parker's (to those who don't know who he is, SHOOT YOURSELF) uncle, Ben Parker 'With great power comes great responsibility'. And somehow in my opinion, i believe that we Malaysians aren't responsible enough yet to be given the absolute power to speak about whatever the hell we want.
You see even with such restrictions, we have various self-proclaimed anarchists thinking it is cool to bring up something controversial just for a chance to be heard. Then being glorified and dubbed as 'martyrs' to their cause when they get caught by local authorities and detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA, people..) Perhaps they suffered from an incomplete childhood, and were not given proper attention while they were adolescents. All they need is a hug from their mothers or a small kiss on the forehead. Maybe a bedtime story and a nice tucking in IN A FUCKING ASYLUM.
My stand on freedom of speech? It's rather simple. I do believe that it is still necessary and vital to maintain the existence of such laws, especially for the sake of public order and security. We do not need a modern day Karl Marx or someone or other trying to be an anarchist and rallying disillusioned people (of which plenty exist) to stand for an arbitrary cause. Need evidence? Just look at the HINDRAF fiasco not too long ago. Such foolish demands and ideals would only be followed by fools themselves. But as has been proven, plenty of such people do exist. Disillusionment brings forth discontent and the dumbing of the brain, in search of any means to gain fame or even money. Besides that, there has been so much discontent bubbling about within the non-Malay masses on the rights and privileges of Malays, that the feeling of discontent breeding about is palpable. It's akin to a balloon filled with water almost to breaking point. All it takes is for someone to supposedly 'stand up' against such laws to cause our delicate balance to come crashing down. It would be like a small prick to the abovementioned water-filled balloon. Disaster would strike. Again, it is with this in mind that the parliament implemented such restrictions. It is like the parents or guardians (the parliament) taking the pin from the fucking retard of a small kid suffering from ADD (the aggravator) who is desperately trying to prick the balloon.
But though i do believe that it is absolutely necessary considering the delicate and troubled times, especially now with the economic downturn exacerbating things further, i do also believe that it is something that should never remain static in the Constitution. Why, you may ask, am i contradicting myself? My answer to the question posed is that you must shut up and be patient while i explain.
You see, although those restrictions are necessary, they have become a sort of excuse for us Malays to become complacent; hushing down the sad truth that we have become sorely weakened by the perks that have been given to us. To paraphrase the words of Pak Lah 'if one uses crutches for too long, taking it away would require the use of wheelchairs instead'. Of course he is referring to the privileges of the Malays and how we have become too dependent on it. Yes i do agree too that taking away the privileges absolutely would make Malaysia an enlarged version of Singapore (which means i have to migrate again coz that was what i was trying to run away from). But i do believe also that over reliance of such perks would only serve to weaken us even further than those around us, who have managed to rise up without even having to resort to benefits and perks. We as Malays have to realise that the longer we rely on such perks, the more powerful other races around us become, all gearing up to usurp us from what is rightfully ours. Therefore perhaps the people who bring up such forbidden topics up are doing us an implied favour by serving us a grim reminder that if we Malays do not change and improve ourselves, we might have our own lands snatched from our very eyes, albeit in a subtle but evil kind of way. Therefore my proposal would be to reduce such perks as of now, to allow the Malays to adapt and to get back on their feet, and perhaps after they are on par or even better than the rest of the races (which may take ages) then the re-implementation of such laws can take place. Yes one may hear howls of anguish and cries of dismay, but to put it in a more logical manner, an old and injured person screams and cries out in pain initially when his cane is taken away from him, but it is done so that he will straighten himself out and adapt to the circimstances, hopefully being able to walk tall again, and then the cane can be given back to him as decoration and embellishment, much like a pimp who does not really need the cane, but is happy he has it (yes yes, lousy comparison, but i couldnt think of any other fit person who would want to use a cane. So shut up and bear with it :P). But if he then rolls up in a fetal position and throws a tantrum, pretty soon no one would care, and it would give people the chance to easily take away all his stuff while he is too busy being a lil' bitch.
Despite all of this, i do think that this law is quite draconian only for the fact that although one may not say something, one may still think about it. It may be bubbling, even festering in one's mind, but as soon as others talk about such stuff, the infection and rot will spread into the minds of others, and pretty soon an epidemic will start. So the freedom of speech is an essential law, though there are still no laws limiting the freedom of thought.:P imagine a gang of psychic hitmen law enforcers that eradicate or abduct anyone who even thinks about such restrictions. I am getting ahead of myself here, but i guess the restrictions of the freedom of speech are primarily to prevent the public broadcasting and propagating of such abhorrent ideals, for the sake of a greater good. (you may refer to my older post entitled 'united we stand, divided we fall?' for a glimpse into what i think about the machinations of a society, but with the current state of things and how society is as it is, the greater good is still essential)
So to prevent any more headache as it is, to sum it all up, i do believe that the restrictions enumerated in Art. 10 regarding the freedom of speech is essential, although i do say that it cannot be put there forever, and we Malays should not remain ignorant and complacent with regards to the status quo of things as they are, lest we would be overthrown in our own country, with history repeating itself (Singapore, anyone?) though i do know of my good friend who said that we will never learn from history and the mistakes of our brethren from the past, i do hope that this is a general rule, and that as with every general rule there will be exceptions, i.e. in this situation we are in right now.
And for a closing note, to those who think that the liberties that are claimed by people in the (damn myself again) US of A are absolute, think again (yeah fools). Though they can say whatever the hell they want, when they want and where they want to, all their phone calls are monitored by the Puppet Master. And besides, they still have something called the Patriot Act (which is something like an act we are all too familiar about). So to have less freedom and more privacy, or 'absolute freedom' and no privacy?? You decide....

Birthday Blues
The first probable reason was that this was the big day, the day i left my teenagerdom. And i tell you, it was the worst day of my life. I felt really old. It sucked. So i stayed at home most of the day and played around with my Hot Wheels, to remind myself that i am still a kid at heart! And turns out the Hot Wheels did do a pretty darn good job!
The second probable reason was that my dad didn't get me anything for my birthday. He promised me a present though. So lets just see what he will get me.. Hehe.. Though my cousin did get me a present, which was very sweet of him.
The third probable reason was that i was angry coz i was reminded of how my birthday was with my ex. It was pretty boring. I got a book on Abe Lincoln which she said reminded her of me, which, incidentally i haven't even started reading.:P so its here just collecting dust. Though i am saving it for burning material just in case climate change brings forth a new ice age. LOL!
The third probable reason was that had i been born a day earlier, i would have been having a fucking holiday coz the day before was maulidul rasul.. Argh. So on my birthday i made it a point to intentionally skip all my day classes and only go for the night class. Which sucked.
The fourth probable reason was that my dad did buy pizza for the whole family to eat, which we brought to A MAMAK SHOP.. argh.. But overall the pizza tasted pretty good. While the lasagna didn't. Note to all: Don't EVER buy Canadian 2 4 1 pizza's lasagna. Overpriced and tasted, to put it nicely, LIKE SHIT. At least the pizza tasted good. Pity i puked it all out the next morning. Sigh.
Well all in all this was the worst birthday. Though a couple of friends did help me out and made it less fucked up. We went out the next day and had a jolly good time! Well so it didn't turn out to be so crappy after all. But i will update this blog if i do get a prezzie from my dad. I hope it's BIG.. Till next time, i hope your birthdays aren't as fucked up as mine.
Cheers

Quotable quotes 4

'Simplicity is the new sophistication'
This quote seems to perfectly sum up all that i admire in people and the world itself. See as everyone outside tries their best to actually attract the most attention (a walk around Bukit Bintang would surely convert any skeptics :P) through extremely gaudy, eye catching and glitzy fashion, its the simple, unglamorous and understated ones that usually catch mine eye and admiration. Scientifically, this could be because such fashion leaves a person to focus on the more important physical aspects of a person (ok this is NOT what you think think. I MEANT THE FACE!!). But i think it is a good tactic employed by fugly people to attract attention to themselves. Which is why one more thing i notice is that those who dress up too much seem to look like people suffering from elephantitis. Me? I'm happy just the way i am, which is rotund, yet in a cuddly kind of way. No clothes can cover that, and no amount of covering up and deception may change that fact..:P
The funny thing is that this quote not only extends to fashion, it also applies to most other objects with aesthetic value. Cars, for example, look better as an understatedly stylish fom of transportation; not with tacked on pieces to make a car look like something it is not. Speaking of tacking on, I once saw a waja with a bodykit that looked like a BMW, with the infamous 'kidney grille' and the moment i stopped in front of him, with him seeing the real thing, he hotfooted as quickly as possible to somewhere unknown perhaps to save face or to kill himself. But the moral of the story here is being simplistic is always the best way to go. There really is nothing wrong with driving a Malaysian car. Truth be told i would have been happy owning a proton anyways. Just never ever try to be something you aren't. As a reference just look at the potential embarrassment of the pic i just discovered while browsing through the net. The horror...
Even for homes, the best houses are always those with minimalistic designs, with the whole unit acting cohesively, with delicate and subtle details that might escape your attention once, but soon start to get unearthed as days go by. This means one will never get bored of the whole design, and the immaculate detailing will be something that i reckon will never ever be tiresome. That is how i would model my house in the future. This is opposed to a hodge-podge of various designs all vying to attract your attention. Such a mismatching theme that overloads senses, in my opinion, can only be applied to one thing: food, glorious food..
One thing that has to be realised is that simplicity always works best with the other word, subtlety. If one can control and master both elements together, one can conquer the world!! Well in design and aesthetic aspects nonetheless.:P
But really, i cannot agree more with the quote. It is so refreshing to know that you share the same point of view as one of the world's greatest men who ever lived. I live for simplicity, and it is something i look up to and admire in a person. So to simply put it, KEEP IT SIMPLE!
Cheers,

Perfection or vanity?
Well it strikes me and deeply saddens me acknowledging the fact that we live in a superficial world, driven by the desire, and constant addiction, to achieve perfection. Perfection can be defined as the ultimate manifestation of someone or something, without flaws or weaknesses. Perfection is almost always seen in the eyes of many, with which comes riches, respect, awe, and interest or desire from the opposite gender. Everyone is so driven to perfection, that nothing else matters; only the constant question of 'what will THEY think?' or 'how will i look in front of THEM?'.
Perfection is an extremely overrated and misunderstood word. Poor thing.. Everyone deems perfection as something viewed in the eyes of people. It is not helping that we have reality shows criticizing the creative ideas of inspiring and up and coming minds, infusing the public with an instinctual desire to prove something, anything, to others. This is where everything fucks up. Perfection is never about what people think. It is a self appreciation of our feats, attributes, or achievements. This leads to self awe, self respect, and self confidence. In turn, these are the most powerful weapons a person can have in flourishing, if not surviving, in this modern, dog eat dog world. Take, for example, Donald Trump. The fool is butt ugly (perhaps even a butt looks more handsome and charming). Sadly he isn't even among the 50 richest people in the world. But the self confidence he has in his capabilities, the self respect he has, and the self awe he has for his achievements catapults him to become one of the most influencial and respected people living in the world today. But then again, all these self stuff has its limitations. Never EVER go overboard, for it is a sure fire way to destroy your life. Getting cocky will always lead to a cataclysmic downfall. In truth, being self motivated is awesome, but we should never forget that we are still little people. Very little people as compared to the powers that be. The divine creators. God. In Islam, it is even stated (forgive my lack of knowledge for i have forgotten the exact surah and ayat sumber) that 'humans are created weak', with our innate imperfections. Therefore it cements the fact that perfection is what one sees in oneself; how far one has come in life, overcoming the trials and tribulations, rising above adversity and moulding oneself to become a person who will leave a lasting impact in this world, in a good way.
Vanity on the other hand, is a constant obsessive desire to achieve only one type of perfection, often deemed by many as the ultimate form of perfection: physical perfection; in other words, beauty. The lengths people go to to achieve this form of perfection is astonishing. Sometimes flabbergasting. Botox, silicon, liposuction. Household names in helping people achieve what they percieve as beautiful. Which, ironically, is also infused by the thoughts of others. Thus the connection of vanity with perfection can be only deemed as such - vanity is the description of the effort taken to achieve perfection, albeit in a slightly one-dimensional way.
But it is really pathetic seeing the lengths people go to, the amount of vainness infused in people in the world today, as they desperately try to catch a fleeting dream. A dream and desire to be the best looking person, above the ranks of the hoi polloi. But the fact remains, that people are fickle. A hilarious quote was made in MADtv regarding fashion, a major factor in achieving beauty. It went like this: 'Fashion, is like sex. Sometimes you're in, and sometimes you're out. Which is true, as one moment a fashion item can be called awesome, and the next moment, it becomes cliche and extremely derivative. Vanity is even enshrined in stories we heard as children. Take, for example the efforts of the evil stepmother in Snow White who tried to maintain her 'Fairness of them all' status, but alas, in vain (imagine how the story would change if modern 'beautification tools' were introduced. Another Michael Jackson, but a female one? LOL). The sad thing is, many people never learn the lessons on the folly of vanity.
This is evident in my own life, with regards to my brother. In trying to go with the flow and become a 'super cool metal vocalist guy, of sorts', he turned to dressing like a metal person often depicted on the telly or the net; with the obligatory t-shirt (often fake) with a metal band insignia or something witty, or Anarchical quote imprinted on it, followed by super skinny jeans, which are more often than not bought at Topman, outlining the pitifully thin visage of the stumps they call their legs. This, in turn made him look like what is coloquially known in Malaysia as a mat rempit. I would make such a statement to him, and would be riddled with loud cries of denial, desperately trying to prove me wrong by showing minor and indistinguishable differences that make him stand out from the rempits, when the sad fact remains that despite his indignance, he still looks like one of them. The worst is yet to come: he actually straightened his once curly and adorable hair (:O!!!!!!!!!!!). This was a total sacrilege to our mixed heritage, for Arabs mostly have curly hair and its rare for people to have naturally curly hair. And i'd sell my soul (perhaps, or something less valuable :P) for curly hair. His hair then became straight, and his transformation into a 'metal guy' was supposedly complete. He flaunted his stuff around, much to the chagrin of my dad and I, as we were hapless and powerless in snapping him out of the subliminal hypnotism (and perasan-ism) that he was in. The climax of the story came just a few days ago. On the 2nd of January, since school was opening (its an Islamic school nonetheless) he went to get his hair cut. Instead of 'trimming, or layering' as demanded by my brother, my dad proceeded to command them to 'cut it all off,' which they subsequently did. This was to be the end of the world as it was, for it invoked the wrath of my brother. You see, in search of perfection, vanity leads people to do crazy and nasty stuff, without caring about the consequences. Like being rude to others, notwithstanding his or her status in your life. My dad and I therefore proceeded to tag-team (wrestling jargon for teaming up) together to shut him up and then gave him a really long lecture to make him realise what he has become and what rules and sanctions shall be imposed on him due to his impudence. He soon realised it and became a good boy once again (for now, and i have absolutely no idea how long it will last). But i must say it was a good bonding moment between my dad and I, and I actually saw the folly of vanity first hand, and being kind enough to share it with you, my dear reader of my blog.
The lesson here is that vanity only exists when one tries desperately to reach the perfection which is viewed in the eyes of many. The obsession of trying to please others often makes one constantly unhappy and dissatisfied with oneself, leading to continued efforts in an effort to reach perfection, i.e. vanity. When one tries to be perfect in ones eyes, there will rarely be vanity, as we take our time, not being in a constant rush in case we lose the moment, or the person we are trying to impress disappears from sight or mind. We are always with ourselves, and the effort we take doesn't need to be a constant state of fervour. Besides, with oneself, there is less of a possibility of being perceived as ugly, therefore less effort in terms of beautification is needed, leading one to become less vain (well i guess i'm speaking for myself here. LOL). But what is true is the odds of vanity arising from the effort of perfection in one's own eyes is lesser than when the perfection is viewed through the eyes of many.
Well I guess i've spoken too much crap, and rambling on an on and on about looks which I don't really give a toss about (perhaps coz I don't have any to spare, giving rise to the supposed spite? :P) whatever it is, before I end, to answer the abovementioned title of this post, I would have to say that 'Perfection (as seen through the eyes of many) IS vanity'!! Grazie, grazie *takes a bow*.. FB out..

The Resolutions of EzzE
1) I shall vow to try my best to never get my car into any accidents or fender benders.
2) I shall try my best to not get into any street races with my car, reducing the risk of resolution (1) and also save fuel, therefor aiding in accomplishing resolution (4).
3) I shall try my best to not get into any major arguments with my father. A seriously difficult resolution, but here it is nonetheless. Ok, perhaps try to reduce it to once a month before once every 2 months, and so on and so forth. But I SHALL SUCCEED!!
4) I shall do what i can to incur less expenditure on behalf of my father, reducing the weight loss suffered by his wallet, which seems like it is suffering from anorexia or bulimia. Or something. :P
5) I shall be a stronger person in terms of mental strength, to be more determined, and less emotionally inclined, in turn being more rationally inclined (in basic layman jargon, it is to be more emotionally detached, for it shall serve me well.)
6) I shall use this year to its fullest in terms of academics, studying my arse off and doing my best in my tests and exams, hopefully catapulting me back into my glory days which remain deeply buried and forgotten in the past.
7) Well, basically, as Syazwans mother put it, i'd look better if i lost around 5 to 10 kilos, so I shall strive to do that this year. :)
8) I shall try to not get into any relationships, for one heartbreak is enough, and i do not want this year to end up like the last. 'Try' here being a key word of this resolution, for it is among the most difficult things to control, and it will help me out if, say, just so, perhaps.. This resolution were to 'come up short', or backfire. :P
9) But most of all, I SHALL ENJOY THIS WHOLE YEAR, AND MAKE EVERY MILLISECOND OF EVERY SECOND OF EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY OF EVERY WEEK OF EVERY MONTH OF THIS YEAR COUNT. Well, it does mean the times when im not exactly hibernating. But alas! This will leave me only good and excellent memories, therefore sandblasting the year of 2008 into oblivion.
All in all, whatever your resolutions are, i do hope you all have a resolution (9) like mine, just dont rip it off fully, for *Disclaimer* subject matter from this post or this blog is subject to copyright laws. Prior permission to fabricate or utilize any part of this blog is required before one can do so. Infringement of this disclaimer can bring forth dire consequences, maybe legal, and maybe not. :P well anyways, enjoy 2009, for it will never ever come back, and who knows, it might be our last.. Cameron highlands.. a place to convert strawberry lovers into haters... (pt. 2 - PICTURES!)
As promised (for i am a man of my word :P), here is part 2 of the Cameron trip coverage. Here are the 'wonderful' pictures that 'captured the moment' of my trip to Cameron, and mostly with my 'Davey/David Jones hat' (my father calls that hat as such in homage to one of the guys who defended the Alamo, who wore suh a hat) on which was a long lost relic from my childhood, which, sadly, was more popular than the person wearing it itself..:( but seriously pardon me for the many cam whoring pictures. Wait a minute why am i apologizing? according to my commandments, this is MY blog and I can do whatever the hell I want! Bleargh! :P All in all, I finally became a child again! WOOHOO!! For more information, refer to Part 1.
Me posing with my hat at the waterfall
Me being a God of Tranquility at the MARDI research centre
The colonial style English cottage (forgot to ask what it actually was, for i was totally engrossed taking pictures) which was situated at the MARDI research centre
The English style garden, also at that place. Was totally awesome!!
The view of the horizon in the morning, at the place where we spent the night. Clouds creating an awesome 'sky is falling' illusion
Now a picture of me viewing the BOH tea plantation, as if i own it.. One day, Ezzedin.. One day.
The second picture at the BOH tea plantation, this time a Titanic moment.. 'I'm flyinggggg!'
All in all, an excellent trip. I do wish I could do it again, this time with my family, or some of my close Uni friends (of which very few exist), for it would be so much fun. Though prunes and those trying to 'act macho', or 'act gedik' are not allowed ab initio, and shall be shot on the spot and dumped en route if discovered along the way on the trip.:P Will keep posting on this blog if there happens to be any interesting trips. Cameron highlands.. a place to convert strawberry lovers into haters... (pt. 1 - itinery & chronology of events)
DAY 1
0800-supposed gathering at Sentral, bus due to leave by around 0830 to 0900, which happened to leave at...
0930-bus finally got on its way. Slept most of the time, apart from the occasional jolting and scouring around for snacks, which i thankfully stocked up.. MMMmmmmmMMM smarties....
12++-reached the halfway point, at this waterfall which had a wierd name that i sadly forgot. Had nasi lemak there, and took some pictures. Climbed up a hell of alot of stairs, almost causing indigestion, and managed to be a sucessful haggler when i bought a wooden toy gun (managed to bring down the price from 10 to 8 ringgit.. Am i good or what? :P) All in all a nice stop, and had fun cam whoring there..
13++-the bus set foot again to meander further uphill, missing near accidents and close shaves. Almost fell off the steep ravines on the way up.
1430-reached some form of civilisation. What i meant was farms selling Strawberries and all sorts of fruits, and more strawberries- with ice cream, whipped cream, by itself, in yoghurt, in chocolate, with honey, blended into shakes, with biscuits, on wafer, on a salad, or even dried. (A particularly blur moment occured when i enquired with a little old lady selling fruits on whether the cherry tomato she was selling was actually a cherry or a tomato.. Poor lady. And in the end i didnt buy anything from her.:P). Also managed to get my friend who was doing attachment, to belanja me strawberries with yoghurt and honey which was simply exquisite!
1530-left the first of many strawberry farms to come, and carried on, encountering the first and last fast food stall to be seen, EVER. And it was a KFC for god's sake!!
1630-stopped at a MARDI (Malaysian Agricultural Research & Development Institute. Or at least thats what i think it is) research centre. Poor guy having to give informative walk through of the many plants cultivated at Cameron, while most of us, including and especially yours truly, was busy being a kid taking loads of pictures of myself posing with the landscape of which u shall lay your eyes on later on in this post..:) Of all the setbacks, this has got to be one of the redeeming factors of the cameron trip..
1730-left MARDI, and headed to our hotel, which was coincidentally owned by one of the peep's distant relatives who were tempting us to bludgeon them to death (reasons shall be discussed at the 1800 slot).
1745-turns out the bus couldn't go up the hill to the hotel with us in it coz there was a sign that didnt allow vehicles exceeding 6 tons to go up the hill (a point to ponder is that the bus's unladen weight is 10 to 11 tons, and surprisingly, it went up the fucking hill with no problems).. Back to the story, so we had to WALK UP THE BLOODY HILL WITH OUR BAGS!! THANK GOD I TRAVELLED LIGHT (which i shall regret at around 1830 to 1900).
1800-now, the snobbish accomodation owners fucked up our day. Here we are, all breathless climbing up the hill with our luggage, only to be told that we cant have the BBQ we were planning to make coz: a) the guys bungalow we were staying for the night is a strict no cooking area. b) there was a gazebo to have a BBQ with a conventional stove, only problem being OUR GRILL WAS A FUCKING ELECTRIC ONE. c) the kitchenettes for bungalows were FULLY BOOKED. And the only place that cooking can take place is at the service apartments where the girls were gonna be in. So much for BBQ. After being drenched by the rain on our parade, we headed to our respective places for some much needed R&R (and for most of the people, a much needed BATH).
1830-ok now we found out the bungalow was a farce. The bungalow was actually divided into EIGHT. our compartment consisted of a hall and 2 rooms. The plan was that the Malay guys and Indian guys were to share a unit (something about them shall be brought to light at around 0030). Another unit of the bungalow is shared by the Chinese guys and Indian girls, and the service apartment is cohabited by the Malay girls and the Chinese girls. The owners then came up to check on us, telling us that soaps and towels aren't provided (here is the reason why i regretted travelling light) and to not make noise after 11. And we thought Mahallahs were horrible.. We soon freshened up and left for the girls' apartment at...
2000-arrived at the girls' apartment only to find the food that was supposed to be completed was not. So we hung out and had fun chatting our tonsils off while our tummies started a choir till...
2110-Dinner is served.. Bon appetit.. The food cooked by the girls who were stuffed in the kitchen like sardines was amazing! splendid!! ate to our hearts content and hung out some more and chatted with each other until...
0000-everyone was full, woozy and a couple of kilos heavier. So the guys decided to head back. I was hoping to feel the cold, but in truth it wasn't as cold as i expected (probably coz i had extra layers of fat to protect me). The Malay guys, some with their girls, me alone with my 'imaginary girl', decided to hang out with them while the Indian guys went back first.
0030-i left the guys coz i was getting nauseous seeing their lovey dovey endeavours with their couples and since i wanted to give them space, headed back to the room. Upon reaching the room, i went in, only to be greeted by the sight of DRUNK INDIANS. ALL THE FUCKING INDIANS INCLUDING THE STUPID SUPERVISOR WERE DRUNK!!!! Was a hairy moment passing by them, and im glad to report i wasn't hurt. In the room i decided to bathe WITHOUT A HEATER, something i regretted. The blood rushed out of my poor hands at that time, and my heart was beating as if it was about to explode.. Lol..
DAY 2
0600-woke up, freshened up and bathed, this time with a heater.
0700-headed out to the girls apartment again and awaited breakfast before visiting all the farms. Indian guys were hung over and didnt come with us. Phew.
0900-aftr breakfast, we left to the first destination, BOH tea plantation!!
0930-reached the tea plantation, and was greeted by an obnoxious Indian BOH guide by the name of Parthi. Was gonna reshape his face actually, coz he was a cocksure son of a gun who was very rude to us. He even demeaned his own companies products, like the tea bags and flavoured tea! But the plantation itself was F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S.. The view was splendid, the food was nice, and so was the tea! The scenery though... Fantastic.. Again one more redeeming factor of the trip.
1100-left the tea plantation and headed to a bee farm. I managed to have a chat with the bus driver who was still remorseful after seeing me climb up the hill the day before (see 1745, Day 1) and so, i managed to make him feel even more guilty to the extent that he bought me a drink as a sign of apology.:P the farm itself was so boring we were there only till..
11.30-left the stupid bee farm and headed to *GASP* another strawberry farm... We were there for only 30 minutes, and majority of the journey involved walking quite a distance downhill to our bus. Interestingly on the journey down, we came across a medley of items and interesting consummables. Like a fried stall selling nice fried food like fresh potato chips on a long stick, footlong sausages and some nuggety stuff with cheese and mushrooms inside! and we could choose the flavour of our fried foodstuff too!! And oh.. many other crappy shops trying to cash in on the strawberry craze..
1300-we finally left that area, and headed off downhill. But before really setting off on our perilous journey downhill, we stopped by a flower shop. There, my friends and i tormented this small Chinese boy entrusted to run a flower shop. We asked so many questions till he was clearly flummoxed not knowing who and what to answer. Poor guy.. I managed to ask the driver to wait coz i wanted to take an a la Hindustani pose at the back of the shop where there was a rusty metal bridge overlooking a nice lake. Only after i boarded (much to the annoyance of everyone else who had already boarded the bus) did we REALLY make our way downhill.
13++-1800- the trip was so long, we all slept throughout the journey back and there wasnt much to report anyway from this point onwards. It was just that everyone dreaded heading back to civilisation and reality coz despite all the foibles, it was actually an awesome escape from the dreariness of our daily lives.
All in all i really felt it was money well spent. My only wish was that it could have been alot longer. Coz a day was surely not enough. But i did successfully return back to my childhood days, and it was something i cherish and shall treasure forever. Thats one thing i can really thank Cameron for. For giving me back my childhood, albeit for a brief moment. But just having a taste of how it was being a total child again was a really rewarding and gratifying feeling, especially bearing in mind that our childhood is slowly slipping away from our fingers as we slip further into the maw of adulthood and resonsibilities.
Lessons learnt that would be of use to others:
1)cameron highland ladies, especially the older ones, prefer to be called mak cik rather than kak. They dont buy our efforts of flattery and dismiss our haggling skills ab initio.:(
2)when going up, be sure to have your consumption of strawberries cut off, perhaps around 5 years beforehand, for i swear you will be sick of it when you are there. When you get down, like me, you will vow to knock out the teeth of people who ever utter the 'S' word to you, and you will not want strawberries for another couple of years to come....
3)wearing a furry cap with a tail at the back often gets you attention, and many smiles and friends, especially fellow cam whores.
4)if you have to ever share a room, never ever EVER share it with an Indian, let alone an Indian guy, unless he isnt a drinker, or is a Muslim.
5)never, ever EVER go to the place we stayed at. The name of the place is Arabella Hotel. It's atrocious, with rules set out even worse than a Mahallah. So if you wanna enjoy your trip, i would advise you to give that lousy excuse of a lodging spot a miss.
6)be sure to bring a camera, for Cameron shall bring out the cam whore in you!
7)never ever believe the hype that its cold up there. Sad truth is, IT'S NOT. (maybe im just speaking for myself, with my extra blubber) But i didn't think it was THAT cold...
8)now don't be trying to act all macho and shit, trying to bathe without a heater there, at night. Coz you will absolutely DIE of the cold, and it will suck the life out of you. But, if you still think you are more macho than me who tried and survived, then by all means, go ahead. But don't say i didnt warn you.:P
9)try to ask others to drive when going up or down, and never use your car, if you wanna prevent any potential fender benders, or its utter destruction. Well the destruction of any car would also mean your death. Urmm.. Just ask a competent driver to drive u up. NEVER GO THERE IF YOU STILL HAVE A 'P' PLATE, AND IF YOU JUST LEARNT DRIVING. You'll most probably end up in a ditch burning to death, that is, if the fall itself didn't kill you yet.
10)never trust good looking muscular guys. They are perverted and selfish, often exploiting girls who are dumb enough to fall for their rippling muscles. My trip to Cameron subjected me to witness such atrocities with my own eyes.. The HORROR!
Ok now thats all for part 1, part 2 will show the pictures that 'captured the moment' of Cameron highlands. So stay tuned! FB out..

Christmas - a time for joy, jubilation and fond memories..
Long long ago, before the advent of video games as we know today (we only had the stupid thing that could play tetris, or known to us as 'brick game' :P), the raging hormones of today, and the gore and violence surrounding our daily lives, i was a young boy, fresh from changing kindergartens (from an islamic one to a christian one nonetheless, mostly due to the fact i was totally freaked out because the teacher started implementing the rotan..) anyway, when i moved to the new kindergarten, all the christian teachings got absorbed into this impressionable young mind, which gave my parents a scare, thus changing my kindergarten again.. But for that brief moment, i learnt the value of christmas from teachers and peers alike; THAT WE ARE ENTITLED TO GET PRESENTS! :P
So from that moment onwards, i bugged my parents into celebrating Christmas, and they, upon seeing a doe-eyed boy bubbling with excitement on the prospects of joining in with the festivities, and not wanting to break his little heart on the foundations of religion, gave in and soon the family of 3+1 (my bro was an infant that time, god knows how he felt) started getting into the christmas mood..
The memories... We used to use a pitiful plastic tree as our 'Christmas tree' (the funny thing was that this tree also soon became our very own Raya tree!!), garnished it with raya lights as opposed to christmas lights, hung christmas ornaments on its plastic coated wire branches, and stuck stuffed toys within its measly lousy excuse of a bark made from an unknown (or unrecalled) material. It was during that time when the lights would be switched on, and we would play a tape full of christmas carols which has been lost along the sands of time. That was also the time i pestered my parents, my dad usually relenting, much to the chagrin of my mother, (and my beloved grandma, affectionately known as 'baba', depicting her heritage) into getting me prezzies.. Oh the joy of getting prezzies, especially those you want, also being with our loved ones, was an inexplicable euphoria that remains imprinted in my mind till this very day.
And i guess its this euphoria that makes christmas such a joyous occasion for everyone. Whether its hanging out with friends, getting prezzies, or even just savouring the holiday itself, christmas should be enjoyed by one and all..
Sure our religion does not allow us to believe in the history of it, and no one is actually claiming as such. But for one to look down on, and to not allow people to join in the festivities and spread the joy and jubilation of a holiday such as this is clearly the workings of an extremely cold hearted person (or a person being jealous of others being happy, or is allergic to happiness, or is a bloody prune, of which many exist around me:P). Happiness is never a right of one, with the exclusion of others; it should be shared and spread like an epidemic, for happiness is something more valuable than wealth itself. That, my dear peers, is my two cents on Christmas. So before, i hit the sack, id like to wish everyone irrespective of religion - merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. HO HO HO.. (all i need is the bloody costume for my girth fits the role already.. Lol..) FB out..

I'm BAAAAAACKK!!! :D But Uni's back too.. :(
1) Go get fit with Syazwan, who has offered me his fitness expertise to get me in shape. Really trying to follow what people often tell me, that i look good (as if. Haha.. But i do thank them for their flattering comments) and that i'm like a diamond in the rough. Well in this case its a diamond lodged inside so much adipose tissue :P
2) To actually go study a bit more than last semester, which was so screwed up my neurones in my brain have automatically decided to forget all the shit that happened, except towards the end when i hung out alot with my friends who helped me get back on my feet, leaving me with awesome memories :) Though i would wanna study more at the library, so prepare to see this face in the library apart from classes.
3) With help from resolution number 2, i hope to increase my pointer (gpa) to above 3.4 at least this time, helping increase my average cgpa.
4) Try to actually COME TO MORE CLASSES, despite ALL CLASSES starting at 8 IN THE MORNING. Last semesters attendance was appalling, and perhaps that partly led me to my measly grades. THIS HAS TO END OR I SHALL SMITE MYSELF.
5) To be closer to select friends, simoultaneously distancing myself from other 'friends' who have 'helped' me to no end. Names shall not be uttered, but you all know who you are :)/:(
6) Try to be active in the only club i am in, which is Tan Sri Ahmad Ibrahim Legal Research Group (i shall not spell out its shortened form to avoid embarrassment to myself and the group) also despite my measly track record with co-curricular programs.
7) Make sure I do not leave bad impressions to lecturers and be kewl with them.
8) Remaining a low profile person, often being unseen, only coming to class and leaving soon after, and not to be wholly dependant on cliques like how i used to be.
Well yeah i guess thats about it for now. Again as with everything in this blog, i shall update my resolutions if and when i see fit, and this is an inexhaustive blog, so keep coming back again if u have the time and attention span to keep up with me and my irregular blogging. As for now, FB out!

A trip to the zoo! Weeee!! Yippeee!! :D
So off we headed, to the zoo. But a word of warning: do be aware that the zoo is a FUCKING EXPENSIVE PLACE. Especially if you are above 12. So we had to fork out 15 PER PAX to enter. FIFTEEN BUCKS?? IS IT WORTH IT?? That question initially pinged around in my mind. Mixed feelings, and a shrug of shoulders ensue. But here is a list of results as to why it is, and it isn't worth going to the zoo:
Reasons why the zoo isn't worth it:
1) the penguinS enclosure only has ONE penguin. :(
2) the primates enclosure consists of balding monkeys who are stressed out, the likes of which
can be seen along the streets of malaysia asking for money (ok i made that last part up :P)
3) the river fishes area has empty aquarium tanks and *GASP* DEAD FUCKING FISH IN ONE OF THEM! :@
4) some animals seem so sad and i can relate to their sadness. Its much like being stuck in my uni, except for the fact that we aren't stuck. But when we are there, we look like them alot. :P
But there are plus points too, of which i managed to catch some pictures of. Enjoy:
1)
2)
3)
4)
Well the zoo was, all in all, an ok place. The awesome parts just managed to cover and overshadow the bad parts, and i actually am looking forward to going there again to bond with the animals, if time and the depth of my wallet permits! Next project would be either a trip to the botanical gardens, bird park or the museum. So stay tuned! FB out!

So i keyed in my matrix number and my pin, and while the page was loading, got into a tussle with my bro, and tried shooing him off; for this special moment was to be mine and mine alone. lol. Alas, i saw his face of eagerness to see my results and possibly get a chance to laugh at my appalling grades (which he hasnt got to do for a veeeeery long time i must add :P). But when it finished loading, LO AND BEHOLD.. It wasnt as bad as i thought. Well it was bad for me (anything under deans list is bad.. sigh) and still i was hoping for some laughs and jeering from that Phillistine, but yet, all i heard was.. SILENCE.. Amazing. He didnt utter any bad or ruthless words, and was sitting beside me, transfixed at the screen. So one fire avoided there..:D
Next surprise was from my dad. I called him to tell him the bad news, and was hoping to get a bit of an earful (my dad doesnt really care about my grades. He asks, i tell, a few words, and finito.:P so if its good he will be like 'very good', and if its bad he will be like 'it must be coz of this...' before reverting to the usual 'oh well. its ok') so i called him, ears prepped up for abuse, and all he gave was 'oh, not too bad' coz he thought i would have scored worse considering the abovementioned 2 fucking factors. But in truth it wasnt too bad, and im glad i didnt disappoint anyone in the process.
Anyways there is a lesson to be learnt from this. Follow my mantra 'hope for the worst, so that anything better will come as a surprise..' it came in handy for me in countless situations, and im sure as hell it will come in handy for you, my dear readers..:P Anyways, have a great day, like what i am having, and enjoy yourselves. FB out..

Quotable quotes 3
'The objective of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives'
Now the thing is, education today is, to put in a simplistic manner, fucked up. I have experienced firsthand the flaws of education. Here is a perfect example. Since i migrated to malaysia when i was 14, i went through two different education systems, and so came up with a definitive idea of what is what. And while in Singapore, i was studying its history, and when it came to the separation of Singapore and Malaysia, we were led to believe that Malaysia was an evil and lousy country, who were so biased and horrendously backward in its mindset. Whereas in Malaysia, upon studying history in the Malaysian perspective, we were then led to believe that it was Singapore that was evil, and it was too demanding for its own good, trying to spark animosity among races and stuff like that. Though both have valid and to an extent sound arguments, i am more inclined on the latter perspective. But the point here is that if you only lived in one place, you will only hear one side of the story, and you will be led by the nose into believing something that might not be wholly true. This shows the corrupting capabilities of education.
Another thing about education itself can be read in my blog post on society 'United we stand, divided we fall?' So good fer you if you read it, and thanks for your unending attention and time! for those who havent, dont be lazy swines and go before i smite you to the deepest darkest crevice of this earth.:P
So if education now is fucked up, then what does that saying mean? I guess it involves education on a basic, pure and undiluted manifestation. A form of education that does not involve taking sides and focuses more on the logic and critical aspect of the human brain, or just for the sake of gaining uncorrupted knowledge, things told as they are, and not through any form of censorship or body to make sure everything is 'properly told' to benefit the authorities. Seems like today we are running out of people who call a spade, a spade. (Instead, they call it a metal tip, sometimes pointed at the edge, or may be flat, joined to a wooden pole, and is used for digging holes.:P)
This therefore leaves me to conclude that the quote only applies to a basic and pure manifestation of education, and no matter what, the significance of education should never ever be downplayed. It also goes in line with the ancient adage 'give a man a fish and he feasts for a day, teach a man to fish (and perhaps if you are charitable enough, give him a rod) and he feasts for a lifetime (provided he knows how to use the knowledge n stuff he has gained). Ponder about it, HoMiEz.. FB out..
